This past Saturday, I took my momma to the Spa (it was her Christmas present). We had such a relaxing, peaceful day, complete with massages, Scandinavian baths, lunch, yoga and tea. It was wonderful. I recommend that you check it out. The day was obviously followed by a few pints at a local Irish pub…
Back to the baths. I’ve been wanting to check them out for a while. I’ve heard and read good things. Embraced by many cold-climate cultures, hot and cold water rituals improve circulation and overall health, leaving skin looking bright. The process includes around 10 to 15 minutes of hot and steamy, followed by an ice cold plunge, then some r&r. The cold plunge wasn’t as deadly as I thought it would be. The heat kind of gets sealed in your body. Awesome. Love it when my body is sealed with heat, since it’s usually a block of ice.

It was actually moms idea to start our road trip with a smoothie. (You see, Im often smoothied-out by Saturday). So, for a Saturday at the spa, I made us non-dairy strawberry & banana “milk”shakes. Five stars! And a high-five for me (and you too, mommma!).
(Pre-spa me at 7 am on a Saturday calls for black and white. My trusty travel cup follows me almost everywhere.)

1 cup almond milk
1 tbsp flaxseed
