Coffee Recipe for Power

Talk about a blogging hiatus. Whoa. This summer is totally flying by. Between bachelorette parties, road trips and my best friend’s wedding (not the Julia Roberts’ movie), every weekend has been just packed. So when another amazing pal of mine suggested I make a smoothie using coffee, I was most definitely down. Besides the obvious pick me up from the coffee, this glass of goodness also eliminates the amount of liquids I have in the morning from three (smoothie + coffee + water) to two (smoothie + water). Also, if you’re a fan of coffee frappucinos, this is a great substitution, less the sugar, fat and excessive calories.

1/2 cup medium or strong coffee (cooled to at least room temperature)
1 cup almond milk (or your favourite milk)
1 banana
1 tsp cocoa powder
1 handful ice
