Blueberry Muffins in a Glass

Although we all love starting our day with a glass of goodness and just can’t imagine a day without one (gasp! the horror!), I’m sure there’s some of us out there who crave something a bit more solid… a muffin perhaps. Unfortunately, muffs are loaded with fat, sugar and who knows what else, so they definitely aren’t glass-of-goodness-approved (sorry… unless, of course, they’re these ones). Now what if I told you that you can have a glass of goodness and a muffin in one, less the fat, sugar and who knows what else! Drum roll please…

1/4 cup rolled oats (NOT instant; gluten-free available, too)
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 banana
1 cup favourite milk (almond for me!)
1 handful ice
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 tsp natural sweetener (agave, honey or pure maple syrup)
1 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 tbsp hempseed

This really tastes like a blueberry muffin. Or, at least blueberry muffin batter. And the best part? Whil we lose all the bad stuff (said fat, sugar, etc), we gain loads of fibre, protein, omega 3 and disease-fighting antioxidants, as well as potassium, vitamin C and iron!
