Berries and Banana Smoothie

This morning brought me to a gift and trade show at the International Centre, just north-west. I was on the lookout for bird apartments (aka birdhouses) for a spring photo shoot, as well as other new and amazing products to feature in either of the magazines that I work for. Today’s breakfast had to be something fast and convenient, so I wasn’t about to try anything new. One of the best things about smoothies is that you really don’t need to have a specific set of ingredients on hand, just some fresh or frozen fruit and veggies and some sort of juice, milk or even water (it doesn’t get much easier than that!). This morning, I used frozen mixed berries, the very last banana and bit of frozen kale (!), both flax- and hempseeds, as well as the tail end of a bottle of pomegranate juice mixed with some water. I learned two things today: (1) I need to go grocery shopping and (2) this mix of ingredients turned into one fantastic breakfast!

1 cup frozen mixed berries
1 ripe banana
1 tbsp flaxseed
1 tbsp hempseed
1/4 cup frozen kale
1/4 cup pomegranate juice mixed with water
